Treatment philosophy: “The past 47 years in medicine has taught me to be a better listener. Our decline in health may be genetic or inherited–but a greater number of us develop bad habits from early childhood. It’s important to be heard, be validated and then work together to change those things that are dragging us down or making us physically or emotionally ill.”

Professional journey: “My professional journey has run the gamut of rural medicine in Down East Maine ( 5 years), 4 generations of local family practice (since 1981), occupational medicine at GE and Hussy Seating Companies (20 years), addiction medicine at ROAD, and urgent care (10 years in NH and MA). I’m back to the beginning, full circle until retirement if or when I become forgetful or truly overwhelmed.”

“When I’m not treating my patients, I enjoy… My wife and I have been ocean sailors for decades. Now, it’s pickle ball and grand kids (5). I can’t leave out our chocolate lab Ozzie, who is truly man’s best friend.”
