The Artistic Side of Dr. Charle
Were you aware that Dr. Edwin Charle, co-founder and medical director of Salmon Falls, is a member of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra? Those of you who thought that perhaps doctors don’t have an artistic side have been proven wrong! Dr. Charle has been an avid cello player for years, and his talent can be witnessed at all performances of the PSO. Want to know more? Keep reading for a note from Dr. Charle:
Rehearsal season has begun again for the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. We are preparing for our concert on Sunday, November 9th at the Portsmouth Music Hall at 3:00 pm. John Page, our conductor, will give a talk about the concert starting at 2:00 pm. If you’re interested in attending this performance, I strongly recommend that you attend the pre-concert lecture. I attend these talks and always find that they add to my enjoyment of the music. We will be performing Findlandia by Sibelius, Brahms Symphony No 2 and Rodrigo Concierto de aranjuez, which is for a guitar soloist. Look for me in the cello section. Both the Brahms and Sibelius pieces have a lot of good parts for the cello.
